The former state-owned Ghanan airline flew using DC-10 to Europe and North America. This 1994 timetable, issued for the German market, shows international flights to Düsseldorf and also some connections from other African cities (including Las Palmas, the only Spanish city served by Ghana Airways) via Accra.
Like many other African airlines that were closed down around the late 90's, Ghana airways operations were stopped in 2004, after a long struggle to keep the airline in good shape. Ghana International Airways (which does not longer exist) was the new Ghanan airline, also with Government support. Please click here for a 2009 GIA timetable, hosted at the Timetable Images website, showing flights to London and Düsseldorf.
